I auditioned dogs for three days but they didn’t have the personality. So the prop man ,on the picture, had a little girl that had a dog and he’d bring it in and his name was Buttons. It had these green eyes and full of pep. I never trained a dog like this before but I thought I had to do something. I took him home with me, I fed it, and it slept on the bed with me. I took it to the rehearsal hall and put a rope loosly around his neck and dragged it around my body and its paws were out and I’d give it something to eat. I trained the dog to dance with me and that dog was a ham he loved to be on. He was marvelous. The funny thing was the prop man after the picture, joined the Animal’s Union and Buttons became a star of motion pictures.

Mary Poppins Songs ~ Jolly Holiday

Inspired by [x], this is to show the range of roles that Marilyn Monroe played throughout her career and how she should not be judged on her dumb blonde roles, when her characters were so much more than that.
